Visitors in back workroom
I have been noticing an increase in traffic of non-library personnel -"guests" in the back room. Guests/patrons/friends should be met with in the public area or the meeting room. Other than the Friends who need to shelve books or use the copy machine, no one else should be in the back, either the large book sale area and especially the staff work area. It is a un-necessary distraction to co-workers.
We put locks up on all the doors to maintain a "safe" area. As of now, there is none. Staff have shared concerns that spouses have access to all our safe areas. We have a host of new subs at ref and circ. We need to enforce this across the board.
Thank you for your cooperation.

I am assuming "safe area" means the kitchen, too. Couple of times we have been startled to see strangers there or in the hallway behind circ. Can be unnerving.
Can Mike be in the back when he's prepping for art classes? He still has two more coming up that he's doing for the teens?
