OCLC request approval
Going back to "how it used to be" all OCLC requests will be approved/denied by a librarian.
Any items that they successfully find that are for SLCILL, they will put a red OCLC REQUEST slip into the item and place it on the reference desk. The slip should be half in and half out of the item so that it is quickly identifiable to the librarian on desk what it is.
Staff who pull items for the Hold Pickup List will need to do a quick scan down the list at the user name and if they see any that say SLCILL mark it in someway (circle, highlight, etc.)
Any items that they successfully find that are for SLCILL, they will put a red OCLC REQUEST slip into the item and place it on the reference desk. The slip should be half in and half out of the item so that it is quickly identifiable to the librarian on desk what it is. The item can just be left on the desk, it does NOT need to be handed to a librarian. That way if they are busy with a patron, on the phone, away from the desk, it can just be dropped on the desk and not take up anybody's valuable time.
The librarian on desk will determine if the item can be sent out to fill an OCLC hold or not and mark the red slip accordingly.
If "yes" is marked place the slip back in the item (half in/half out) and give the item to circulation.
Circ staff should then use the Trap Holds wizard on any items they receive with the Red Slip that is marked "yes".
Any items that are marked "NO" should be given to LM who will let SLC know it is not available to fill the hold.
