Melcat notes

We just got confirmation back that if there are any problems with a patron's record, that they can NOT place a request in Melcat.

The patron can not have any overdues, any fines, or their card can not be expired.

The problem is, that even if the patron "fixes" any issues with their card at that time, the request can still NOT be placed until the next business day.

Because of the fact that Melcat is NOT a hold system, it would not benefit us or the patron to try and "hold" their request until the next day.

The best thing to do at this time, is to just explain to the patron "In order to place a request outside of our system, the patrons record needs to be active and clear of any overdues or fines, the day BEFORE the request is placed."

We will make up a form that you can note the author and title on and give to the patron to call back the next business day to place their request. (form to follow later).
