Library Card Characteristic Discovery

A note to all circ staff as well as ref staff: If a patron tries to use a library card and it comes up on screen "user not found", that card is no longer valid. Period. When a patron replaces a lost card, a new card/number is issued and the old card number WILL APPEAR in the record under Extended Info---prev. ID. This is needed to secure the history of that record and may confuse the issue.

Identification will be needed to proceed. If the proper ID is shown we may issue another new library card at a cost of $2.00 again. (or they may check out 2 items under NEWEST card number)

We want to maintain the privacy of the patron and the security of their correct library record.

Also, we have found some duplications of the "Froggy (baby)" cards. If duplicates are found please destroy them and use another.
